The new CEO of a prestigious company wanted to make an impression on the employees during his first day. As he strolled around the floor of cubicles, accompanied by two security officers, he saw everyone focused on work, except for a young man leaning against the wall, texting. Outraged, he stomped over to the man and, in a loud voice, said, “How much do you make per week?” Startled, the young man said, “Oh, about $300.” The new boss reached into his pocket, counted out $600 in cash, and said, “You’re finished here. Two weeks severance. Security will escort you out of the building. Make an appointment to remove your personal belongings.” Moments later, the new boss said, to no one in particular, “Anybody know what that goof off did here?” A voice from a cubicle said, “He’s the pizza delivery guy.”
